Gary Wood, Vice President of Sales

Gary Wood, VP of SalesGary Wood, MATRIX Vice President of Sales, possesses three decades experience covering all aspects of the IT services and IT staffing industries. He has achieved significant success in developing long-term business partnerships with large corporate clients. In addition, Gary is a recognized expert in programs that better manage the use of large contingent workforces, especially with regards to Vendor Management Systems (VMS) implementations and programs.

Embracing the concept of a single point of contact relationship, Gary’s ongoing mission is to provide coordinated relationships with our clients, providing all services that MATRIX offers. He is spearheading the merging of the Professional Services and Staffing Solutions sales organizations with the goal of being the high value partner for MATRIX clients.

Gary’s understanding of the industry is quite unique – combining extensive knowledge of IT staffing and services along with delivery processes and customer service excellence. In his early days with MATRIX, Gary managed large staffing accounts focused on the contract staffing area. He served as Director of the MATRIX IT Contract Services group, responsible for large account teams and the support of managers assigned to those accounts. He has also led the implementation of nine Managed Services programs, using industry leading VMS platforms. He supervises customer relationship teams that understand why customers implement a VMS, and how to best work within those environments as a staffing company.

In his 18 years prior to MATRIX, Gary held various sales management positions in the computer hardware, services, software, and professional services sectors. His experience is focused on the financial, telecommunications, health care and general commercial businesses.


Tom Kapish, Vice President of Professional Services

Tom Kapish, VP of Professional ServicesVice President Tom Kapish spearheaded the launch of MATRIX Professional Services in 2004 and has overall responsibility for client solutions delivery, MATRIX Telecom Services, and the internal MATRIX Information Technologies organization. His responsibilities include services practices development, technology advancement, and vendor partnership development.

Previously, Tom served as VP of Corporate Operations at MATRIX with the responsibility for setting strategic direction and tactical management of the operating divisions in support of the growth and expansion of the company's business lines.

At the Coca-Cola Company for eight years, he served as Group Operations Manager in Technical Operations, providing technology solutions world-wide in support of new product packaging initiatives. Prior to that he was Manager of Software Development and Professional Services team lead for Modular Computer Systems, Inc. He managed the implementation of real-time, process control technology solutions in the aerospace and manufacturing sectors for companies such as NASA, JPL, ALCOA and Daimler-Benz in the USA and Europe.


Russ Danford, Vice President of Recruiting

Russ Danford, VP of RecruitingAs Vice President of Recruiting, Russ Danford is responsible for all MATRIX branch office recruiting operations as well as the MATRIX National Recruiting Center and Western Recruiting Center. He works with our recruiting leaders to develop the strategies that help MATRIX attract the best IT professionals available on behalf of our staffing and professional services clients. He ensures that candidate application and interview processes are user friendly and mutually beneficial, with proper emphasis on helping each candidate achieve their career goals. Russ is also involved in the development of effective Recruiting Process Outsourcing (RPO) strategies on behalf of our clients.

Russ joined MATRIX in 2003 and has served the organization in production as a Recruiter, Recruiting Team Lead, and Full-Desk Associate. Most recently he was the Associate Director of Recruiting, leading a dedicated team in servicing one of MATRIX Resources' largest national clients.

Overall, Russ has more than 10 years experience in the IT staffing and services Industry.


Don Palmer, Vice President of Southeast Sales

Don Palmer, VP of Southeast SalesAs Vice President of Southeast Sales at MATRIX Resources, Inc., Don Palmer has assisted MATRIX clients for over 18 years to maximize their investments in IT human capital and IT services.

He became Vice President of Field Operations in 2002 with overall responsibility for all Staffing Account Management and Recruiting operations. He also spearheaded the launch of MATRIX Workforce Solutions in 2003. Don is a member of Technology Association of Georgia (TAG).

He joined MATRIX in 1990, and worked in both account management and recruiting, delivering both contracting and permanent placement services to customers. He achieved Rookie of the Year status and was a perennial Top Performer; leading to various leadership promotions. As a producer and leader in the Contract Division from 1992-1999, he was a key member of the team that grew the MATRIX Atlanta Consultant base from 50 to more than 1,300 individuals.

Prior to joining MATRIX, Don worked with IBM, first as mainframe programmer, then as a Sales Consultant selling mid range computer systems and solutions to SMB financial and distribution clients.
